The Extron VSC 900 and VSC 900D are Two Input High Resolution
Computer-to-Video Scan Converters with Genlock that combine superior processing
with an advanced feature set, including BNC RGB and 15-pin HD inputs with
loop-through outputs for easy integration. In addition, the VSC 900D offers an
SDI digital output.
The VSC 900 and VSC 900D accept computer-video signals with resolutions up to
1600x1200 and output a scan converted NTSC or PAL video signal as composite
video, S-video, component video, and/or RGB video. Both models are designed to
be integrated into broadcast facilities and other demanding production,
training, and presentation environments. They offer exceptional output quality,
the ability to genlock to an external blackburst signal, and/or optional SDI
output. Other applications include videoconferencing, video recording, and
viewing images on an NTSC or PAL monitor or other display device.

vertical/flicker, four horizontal, and four encoder filtering levels
— The VSC 900 and VSC 900D have eight vertical filter settings and four
horizontal filters selectable through the front panel LCD navigation menus.
Filters reduce jitter, improve image stability, and assure that minimal
picture detail is dropped during scan conversion.

automatically optimizes output
— A press of a button
automatically adjusts the sizing, centering, and filtering to optimize the
output image. This can save time and effort in fine tuning displayed images.
- Horizontal
and vertical sizing, zooming, and panning
— Both VSC
900 models feature variable zoom up to 200% to allow for panning across the
screen. User-friendly positioning, including centering and sizing, is
accessible through the front panel for quick and efficient image setup.
- Autoscanning
of computer-video inputs
— Automatically recognizes and
converts incoming computer-video signals at resolutions up to 1600x1200,
horizontal scan rates up to 100 kHz, and vertical refresh rates up to 120 Hz.

factory and 16 user auto-memory presets for picture control settings
- Eight
zoom presets
— Eight zoom presets are available for
recalling size, position, and filtering, accessible via RS-232 or RS-422
control or the optional IR. This feature enables the user to quickly zoom in
on a certain area of the image.
- Image
freeze control
— The output signal of the VSC 900 and
VSC 900D can be frozen using the freeze button on the front panel or RS-232.
This feature allows the scan converter to capture a frame of video to display
for an extended period of time, even after the source has been removed.
- Video
genlock
— All NTSC and PAL video outputs can be
synchronized to an external reference signal for integration into broadcast
and production applications.
- Chroma
attenuation for broadcast environments
— Chroma
attenuation is an ideal feature for broadcast environments where colors in
logos and images must be set at 75% saturation for transmission. The VSC 900
and VSC 900D have the ability to attenuate an input signal's chroma level down
to the correct output level, eliminating the need to re-create the image
and/or content.

test pattern generator - color bars, 32 x 32 crosshatch, 4 x 4 crosshatch,
and gray scale
— The VSC 900 and VSC 900D offer four
test patterns for quick and easy monitor setup.
- RS-232
and RS-422 serial control port
— Using serial commands,
the VSC 900 and VSC 900D can be controlled and configured via the Extron
Windows¢ç-based control program, or integrated into third-party control
systems. Extron products use the SIS¢â - Simple Instruction Set command
protocol, a set of basic ASCII code commands that allow for quick and easy
programming. The RS-232 and RS-422 port also makes it easy to install firmware
updates.
- Front
panel security lockout
— Ideal for unsecured
environments, this feature enables the user to lock out all front panel
functions except centering controls; all functions however, are available
through RS-232 and RS-422 control.
